While the number of issues in the Planetary story isn’t extensive, the series is so tightly scripted that reading the optional graphic novels can be jarring if you read them out of order. Since we had this one on file already, we figured we’d share it with the world.
What is Planetary?
Planetary is a series by superstar comic scribe Warren Ellis, which acts as a part homage and part deconstruction of the superhero genre. It features John Cassaday on pencils. It was published under the then-recently purchased Wildstrom imprint from DC Comics. With Cassaday’s pencils taking a more than a month to complete, the series did not ship regularly, though each issue was cherished. Many creators today cite this as one of their favorite series.
Planetary was set within the Wildstorm universe, concurrently with The Authority. However, it was completely self-contained within its own story.

You can also try mycomicshop.com to get the all the single planetary issues, though it may also be easier or cheaper to get the full run in trade paperback form or with the omnibus, though the graphic novels (while optional but stil great) aren’t included.
